Mission
Statement
We the people of the Helena Peace Seekers are committed to
alternative non-violent methods to realize a vision of world peace,
justice and ecological responsibility.
To achieve these goals we will educate and empower ourselves, and
members of our local and global communities, to find the resources
to “be the peace we seek.” December 2001 |
Everybody’s Business by Valerie Helermann The Helena Peace Seekers produces a TV show called Everybody’s Business on Helena Civic Television, our public access station, twice a month. In the past year, we have presented interviews with knowledgeable guests on topics that are both controversial and timely, believing it is “Everybody’s Business” to be informed. The program is available to Helena cable subscribers on Channel 11 and can generally be seen Mondays at 1 pm and Fridays at 9:30 pm. This year’s programming began with guests Tomas Graman, Tom Butts and Katie Knight as they explored definitions of resource wars, the complexity of the U.S. military approach to resource domination, and the cost of supporting our lifestyle. Future programs will address globalization and economic literacy, the impact of depleted uranium weapons, the continuing of war in Iraq, and how Montanans can convert to renewable energy sources. Anyone interested in proposing a topic or speaking on a relevant issue is encouraged to contact Valerie Hellermann, Producer of Everybody’s Business, at 443-2605. |
